Reporting a bug

The more detail you give us, the faster we can track down what happened. When you write in, please include:

• What you were doing in the app when it happened (which screen, which species or zone, what you tapped)
• What you expected to see, and what you saw instead
• Your device model and OS version, and whether you are on the free or Pro tier
• A screenshot, if you can grab one
• Whether it happens every time or just once

If the issue involves a season, zone, or limit reading you think is wrong, tell us the species, the location, and the date -- that lets us check it against our regulations data directly.

How the app decides

Season countdowns, zone status, and limit numbers are computed from Shellmark's own bundled regulations data and, where relevant, your device's GPS position -- not from a person watching the news for you. The go-out verdict is separate: it scores on-the-water conditions only (wind, seas, tide, storm and advisory text) and never tells you whether a season is open, a zone is harvestable, or a take is legal. Regulations data can lag a real-time FWC emergency closure, and a GPS reading near a boundary line can be wrong about which side of it you are actually on. When the app cannot tell with confidence, it is built to say "verify" rather than guess. Always verify current FWC rules before you harvest.
